Description

Tales of Space and Time is a fantasy and science fiction collection of three short stories and two novellas written by the English author H. G. Wells, and first published in 1899. The stories include: The Crystal Egg (Mr. Cave finds a strange crystal egg that serves as a window into the planet Mars); The Star (Astronomers announce that the orbit of the planet Neptune has become erratic due to a strange luminous object that has entered the Solar System); A Story of the Stone Age (The story of a caveman named Ugh-lomi); A Story of the Days to Come (depicts two lovers in a dystopian future London of the 22nd century and explores the implications of excessive urbanisation, class warfare, and advances in the technology of medicine, communication, transportation, and agriculture); and, The Man Who Could Work Miracles (George McWhirter Fotheringay discovers he has impossible powers).
