Studies in the Psychology of Sex, Volume 3, is the third of six volumes by English physician Havelock Ellis that explores human sexuality. Subtitled 'Analysis of the Sexual Impulse, Love and Pain, The Sexual Impulse in Women', this book was first published in 1903. Delving into subjects such as sadism and masochism, and more specifically bondage, strangulation, whipping, and biting, Ellis discusses how these preferences and instincts manifest, how they can be explained, and how they can be linked to more fundamental aspects of sexuality. He also discusses women's sexuality and the differences between male and female sexual impulses.
