The Description of a New World, Called the Blazing-World is a utopian novel written in 1666 by the then Duchess of Newcastle, Margaret Cavendish. It features a young woman who enters a new world via the North Pole, and subsequently organises an invasion back into her own world. This is the only known work of utopian fiction by a woman in the 17th century, and was originally published as a companion piece to Cavendish's 'Observations upon Experimental Philosophy'.

I run this site entirely on my own - I want to be able to continue offering these books for free, but need some support to do that. If you can, please make a small donation - any amount is appreciated. Thank you! You can also support the site by buying a collection, such as the Fiction (Genre) one, with 250 ebooks for only £15.00
