Description

This is the complete collection of poems by English poet and WWI soldier Wilfred Owen. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest war poets in the English language, known for his powerful and poignant depictions of the horrors and emotional toll of warfare. Born in Shropshire, England, he initially worked as a teacher before enlisting in the British Army during World War I. He served on the Western Front and experienced the brutal realities of trench warfare, witnessing the suffering, death, and destruction that marked the conflict. His firsthand experiences deeply influenced his poetry, and he aimed to convey the grim realities of war to those back home. Owen's poems are marked by vivid imagery, evocative language, and a profound exploration of the psychological and emotional impacts of combat. Some of his most famous poems include 'Anthem for Doomed Youth', 'Dulce et Decorum Est', and 'Strange Meeting'. Tragically, Owen's life was cut short just one week before the end of World War I, as he was killed in action at the age of 25.
