With it's first lines: 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;', this is arguably one of the best known Christmas poems. Also known as 'A Visit from St. Nicholas', it was first published anonymously in 1823. Clement Clarke Moore claimed authorship of it in 1837. The poem itself tells of a family settling in for the night when the father hears noises outside. Looking out, he sees Santa Claus in his sleigh pulled by reindeer.
This book has 12 pages in the PDF version, and was originally published in 1912.
