Description

The House on the Borderland is a horror novel by British writer William Hope Hodgson, first published in 1908. The book tells the story of two fishermen who find an old journal in a remote place in Ireland. The journal gives an account of an old man who has been living with his sister in a very old house - from the introduction written, it becomes clear that not only do the local people think the old man is mad, but also that the house, with it's unusual design, has a reputation for being evil. The old man recounts in his writings how he is taken to strange otherworldly dimensions, encounters weird supernatural creatures, and experiences extreme shifts in time. Considered a milestone in horror writing, and one that departed from the popular gothic horror of the late nineteenth century.

This book has 51,277 words, 99 pages in the PDF version, and was originally published in 1908.
