Ancient India, Its Language and Religions is a book by German scholar of Indology Hermann Oldenberg, first published in 1896. A short book, it is composed of three essays that originally appeared in the Deutsche Rundschau of Berlin. The author explores the study of the Sanskrit language and the history of Sanskrit studies in West, the religion of the Veda, and the history of Buddhism in India.
