Description

This is an 1869 translation of The Works of Julius Caesar, by W. A. McDevitte and W. S. Bohn. It includes his Gallic Wars (Commentarii de Bello Gallico, seven books each covering one year of his campaigns in Gaul and southern Britain in the 50s BC, with the eighth book written by Aulus Hirtius on the last two years) and Civil Wars (Commentarii de Bello Civili, events of the Civil War from Caesar's perspective, until immediately after Pompey's death in Egypt).

It also includes three shorter works; On the Alexandrine War (De Bello Alexandrino, campaign in Alexandria); On the African War (De Bello Africo, campaigns in North Africa); and, On the Hispanic War (De Bello Hispaniensi, campaigns in the Iberian Peninsula).
