Description

Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town is a book by Canadian writer Stephen Leacock, first published in 1912. Widely regarded as a timeless classic of Canadian comedic literature, the book consists of a collection of stories set in the fictional town of Mariposa, situated on the shores of Lake Wissanotti. According to Leacock, it is representative of many small towns with similar characteristics found across Canada. The characters in the stories are often archetypes of small-town people with relatable flaws and imperfections, presented in a lighthearted and affectionate manner. The narrator often exaggerates the significance of Mariposa's events, emphasizing their importance in contrast to the rest of the world. This universality of themes has contributed to the continued popularity of the work. The book has been adapted into both a television series and a film.

This book has 60,486 words, 97 pages in the PDF version, and was originally published in 1912.
