What's Happening with the Site

If you’ve been browsing the site lately, you might have noticed that some categories seem to have far fewer books than they used to, or you might have come to a page that no longer exists. I’m in the middle of a major tidy-up, and things will be looking a little patchy until it’s all done. Bear with me for the next few weeks while I get everything in order.

Here’s the plan: moving forward, the site will be focused on the subjects that really interest me — and the ones that have always been at the heart of Global Grey. The categories staying are:

Christianity
Judaism
Mystic Texts
Occult Teachings
Self-Help and New Thought
Paranormal
Folklore, Mythology, and Selected Histories
Philosophy (but only the ancient and spiritual kind)
Eastern Philosophy and Religions

Everything else will be saying goodbye. Yes, that means a lot of the general fiction and other non-spiritual categories will be going — but there’s good news: the ebook collection that’s for sale right now includes every single title I’ve ever added to the site, even the ones that will be, or have been deleted. That collection will stay available as a “legacy” collection. And once the restructuring is finished, a new collection will be released to match the fresh focus.

I expect the whole process to take about three more weeks. After that, the “Recently Added” page will make its grand return, and I’ll start adding new books that fit the updated theme.

Why the change? When Global Grey began in 2012, it was meant to be a haven for spiritual, esoteric, and alternative texts. Over the years, I kept expanding — adding more and more categories until it became… well, a bit overwhelming. I’m only one person, and keeping up with countless fiction series and long lists of unrelated books was honestly getting me down. I’m so much more excited to get back to the site’s original roots. And really, Google and other websites have always labelled Global Grey as an “alternative, spiritual” site — I’m just finally leaning into that identity.

I’ve already had some really encouraging feedback about the change. Public domain fiction is easy to find in so many other places — my hope is that by focusing on what makes Global Grey unique, you’ll continue to support the site and enjoy what’s to come.

Here’s to the next chapter.
