The author was an educator who published widely on subjects such as John Bunyan’s Pilgrim's Progress and Jacob Boehme. This short work contains selected writings from St. Teresa of Avila, a sixteenth-century Carmelite nun and prominent Spanish mystic who became the central figure of a movement of spiritual and monastic renewal during the Catholic Revival.
