Description

Daddy Long-Legs is a book written by American writer Jean Webster, first published in 1912. Written in the form of letters, it is the story of Jerusha (Judy) Abbott, who grows up in an orphanage. One of the trustees (who believes she has the potential to become a great writer) offers to pay her way through college and also give her a monthly allowance. Among the stipulations is that she will never know his identity, she must write to the benefactor monthly as he thinks that letter-writing is an important way to improve the skills of a writer, that she must address him as Mr. John Smith, and that she must understand that he will never reply. Jerusha only catches a glimpse of the man, and because of his height, she comes up with the nick-name Daddy Long-Legs.

This book has 37,335 words, 115 pages in the PDF version, and was originally published in 1912.
