Description

Complete Story of the San Francisco Horror is a comprehensive account of the massive earthquake that hit San Francisco in 1906. The earthquake struck the coast of Northern California at 5:12 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18 with an estimated moment magnitude of 7.9. More than 3,000 people died, and over 80% of the city of San Francisco was destroyed. This book seems to have been put together in haste following the tragedy, as there are a couple of publishing errors - Chapters 27 and 33 both end abruptly in the middle of a sentence, and there are also some instances where sections of text are repeated. Nonetheless, this is a very interesting set of accounts following a natural disaster in the not so distant past. Also includes twelve chapters giving accounts of other historic disasters of the past from ancient times to the present day.

This book has 112,077 words, 190 pages in the PDF version, and was originally published in 1906.
