The Cattle Raid of Cooley is a legendary epic tale from early Irish literature. It tells of a war against Ulster by the Connacht queen Medb and her husband Ailill, who intend to steal the stud bull Donn Cuailnge, opposed only by the teenage Ulster hero Cú Chulainn. Traditionally set in the 1st century AD in the pre-Christian heroic age, the Táin is the central text of a group of tales known as the Ulster Cycle. Another translation of this story is The Cattle Raid of Cualnge by L. Winifred Faraday.

I run this site entirely on my own - I want to be able to continue offering these books for free, but need some support to do that. If you can, please make a small donation - any amount is appreciated. Thank you! You can also support the site by buying a collection, such as the Folk-Lore and Mythology one, with 150 ebooks for only £10.00
