Description

The World’s Sixteen Crucified Saviors is a book by Kersey Graves, first published in 1875. The book stands as one of the most contentious works on the Christian narrative of Jesus ever published. It delves into the inquiry of whether the human brain possesses an inherent need for an immortal hero who rescues humanity. Is religion merely a means to fulfill a psychological requirement ingrained in our human nature? While this book can be subject to scrutiny in its particulars, it holds significance as one of the pioneering explorations of this profound question, which remains just as urgent today as it did in the past. The World's Sixteen Crucified Saviors presents a multitude of unanswered questions that continue to resonate over a century later. However, it is important to note that this book does contain notable flaws. Graves seemingly relied on sources other than original ones, except for the Bible, and also conflated Vaishnava Hinduism and Buddhism, two belief systems with distinct differences. Nonetheless, it is worth mentioning that the traditional narratives of Krishna and Buddha do share certain motifs with the stories of Jesus in the New Testament.

This book has 123,485 words, 220 pages in the PDF version, and was originally published in 1875.
