Last week, around 30,000 people downloaded books from my site - 8 people gave donations. These books can take me from 2 to 10 hours to create. I want to keep them free, but need some support to be able to do so. If you can, please make a small donation (the average is £2.50).

The Discoverie of Witchcraft was intended as an exposé of medieval witchcraft. It contains a small section intended to show how the public was fooled by charlatans, which is considered the first published material on magic. Scot believed that the prosecution of those accused of witchcraft was irrational and un-Christian, and he held the Roman Church responsible. All obtainable copies of this book were burned on the accession of James I in 1603. Note: Big download, Middle English used, quite hard to read.
