Privately printed for someone called W. Elliot Woodward, this book gets right in there with the actual records from the Trials at Salem. No Preface, no Introduction, the first thing you read is the case of Sarah Vibber against John Willard, from 1692. It makes for a curious reading and there are some really heartbreaking cases; for instance, one in which a man called Mr Bradbury defends 'his beloved wife of fifty-five years', against accusations of witchcraft. Another glimpse into our pretty violent history really. Yay for the human race.
