Summary:

Subtitled, 'An Account Of The Trials Of Human Leopards Before The Special Commission Court; With A Note On Sierra Leone Past And Present', this book, first published in 1915 seems like it's going to be an awesome account of mutant humans with leopard like powers. Unfortunately, this is not the case. It is about the Human Leopard Society, which were a West African group that were active during the early 20th century and who practised cannibalism. They would dress in Leopard skins and basically tear the flesh away from their victims. Lovely. I'm constantly amazed at these old books and what they present to us. Fascinating accounts such as these, however awful, are part of our human history and we should read about them, albeit with a disgusted look on our faces.
