Description

Astral City (also known as Nosso Lar: Life in the Spirit World) is a book that was first published in 1944. Xavier was Brazil's best-known and respected medium and this book follows the story of André Luiz, a prominent doctor from Rio de Janeiro. After his death, Luiz finds himself in the umbral, a region where souls who have not lived fulfilling lives face the consequences of their actions. This is a departure from the Heaven and Hell teachings of his Catholic upbringing. However, André eventually perceives the presence of Clarêncio, a helpful spirit who leads him to Nosso Lar, a spirit colony, or astral city. There, André learns about the intricacies of the afterlife and reincarnation. Astral City is considered a great classic of spiritist literature. Engaging the reader from a first-person narrative, Andre Luiz delivers his impressions of the spirit world he encounters after his death.

This book has 61,181 words, 129 pages in the PDF version, and was originally published in 1944.
