Allan’s Wife is an adventure novel by English writer H. Rider Haggard, that was first published in 1889. It is a short story that initally appeared in the collection 'Allan's Wife and Other Tales' and was chronologically the fifth book in the series featuring the Allan Quatermain character. The book is the tale of Quartermain's early life, his marriage to Stella (the mother of his son Harry), and the eventual fate of Stella. The story is a classic African adventure, complete with magic and ghosts, plus Haggard's trademark gripping narrative style.
